New Protocol to Revolutionize Videoconferencing Industry

Now the IMTC and the ITU have put forth a new protocol that promises to end interoperability forever. The Subject to Interpretation Protocol (SIP) will be front and center at the upcoming Interop event to be held later this month in Jesi, Italy, a suburb of Italy’s hotbed of videoconferencing activity, Ancona by the sea. While H.323 uses H.225 for call control, H.235 for security, and H.245 for media control, SIP allows vendors to choose from over 1,000 RFC submissions when selecting which portions of the protocol stack to integrate into their voice and video products.
